Johnny 9: Fourth track on the Everywhere with You debut album from Stone Atlas.
Johnny 9 is a story about one of those characters you meet briefly but makes such a lasting impression that you write a song about him. Known by his friends as "Johnny Nine Lives" BAKER met him only one night and was impacted by his kindness and wild spirit. He is an avid sky diver and gardener and the type of adventurous soul that people are drawn to.
The feel of this track hits at first with a classic blues riff and soulfully sang upbeat lyrics, but the bridge takes a spin not often heard in the Rock and Roll world. Stone Atlas structured a specific part in this song where a perfect Reggae/Rock mash up showcases styles that have influenced the band. With a tempo change, the addition of bongos, a mellow melody, and smooth shifted vocals this tune will have you grooving from start to finish with a great diversity of sound throughout.
