M.T.R: Sixth track on the Everywhere with You debut album from Stone Atlas.
M.T.R or "Midnight Thunder Road" is a homage to growing up in those times when we didn't need to be home until the streetlights went on. An ode to those kids on country roads that might have rallied a little too hard for mama's liking. When all is said and done you look back and wonder how you're still alive.
M.T.R is any place that reminds you of those times, but for BAKER the backroads of Route County Colorado are the birthplace of this hard hitting punk influenced Stone Atlas all out rock anthem!
lyrics
The gambler wipes his brow
Ramblers roam 'till the sun goes down
Anything goes if you're ready for the show
Wheels are in spin, all those people laugh and grin
It's all going down on Midnight Thunder Road
[Chorus]
Restless souls they lay there
Wild spirits enthroned in the grave there
The Joker tells his tales of grimace and despair
The glories of those who dare
Midnight Thunder Road
Come on get your fix
Police point pistols just for kicks
Now your running down darkened streets untold
Going to the city, the fire is lit
Try to stay alive, don't crash your ship
Ragin’ and a blazin’, on Midnight Thunder Road
[Chorus]
The innocent get taught, from those who've seen it, bartered and fought
Through thick, through thin, their minds are never sold
The wiseman knows better
Seen it all and he’s stormed the harsh weather
Tattered torn, scrutinized and scorned
On Midnight Thunder Road
[Chorus]
Take your chance on a brand-new day
Pack your bags you don't have to stay
Run wild and free, peace of mind is what we seek
