Wanted: Second track on the Everywhere with You debut album from Stone Atlas.
Written by BAKER this song tells the tale of a mischevious couple entertaining a wild evening on the streets of New Orleans. The lyrics first introduce you to The Speakeasy Jazz Cats (a Nola busking band) howling at the moon on Royal Street - The final line eludes to how the night progressed and led the duo to outrun the police on the muddy banks of the Mississippi River. Maybe a bit fabricated but a great story none the less. If you listen carefully you will find many lyrics and sounds that will remind you of The Big Easy.
This track has a jazz vibe with thick bass lines yet doesn't stray too far from Stone Atlas's core modern rock style; its' a perfect fusion of both and leaves you wanting to buy that ticket for Mardi Gras or Jazz Fest.
lyrics
Sittin’ curb side watching those purple lights flicker
Royal cats howl and prowl at that moon filled with liquor
No money no cares, let the honey taste sweet
I met my ol’ love down in New Orleans
And she’s wanted
Yes she’s a wanted girl
Look at her go, got them trembling at the knees
I met my ol’ heart down in New Orleans
Hey Hey
Well Hey Hey
Masquerades and hurricanes, voodoo and beads’a plenty
Heavy brass and wild-zazz vibrate streets that are never empty
We marched for miles love revival
Dim light at Lafitte’s
We lost our damn ourselves down in New Orleans
And we’re wanted
Yeah were both wanted
Look at us go got ‘em shakin’ like the leaves
Lost our damn selves down in New Orleans
Hey Hey
Well Hey Hey
[Scat & Instrumental Bridge]
Running for our lives, those red and blue lights get thicker
We’re the saints on parade, better move our feet quicker
We headed toward muddy water you could hear those gators sing
The hounds close behind us as we fled New Orleans
We’re still wanted
Yeah we’re both wanted
Look at us go, yeah we got off scot free
We are never allowed to step foot back in New Orleans
Hey Hey
Well Hey Hey
We’re both wanted
We can never step foot back in New Orleans
Hey Hey
